WHY ALL GOVERNMENT UFO STUDIES ARE SHAMS–AND WHERE THE REAL INVESTIGATION IS DONE

For over three-quarters of a century the US government has conducted public study investigations of the UFO phenomena, but incredibly has yet to draw any satisfactory conclusions about what these objects are in our skies and in our seas. The government has had 11 public investigatory bodies assembled at various times over more than 75 years to grapple with the nature of these strange objects. From Project Sign and Project Blue Book to the Condon Committee and AATIP--all of them are shams. Every single “official” study of the UFO issue has been in vain. Why this is so will be revealed here and now:

The reason is that these study groups were never given the material and information needed to arrive at truth. This is because the secret to the saucers does not rest with the US government. It lies within the private sector, and it has for a very long time. The critical physical evidence that exists from UFOs is worked on by select defense contractors and has never been shared with members of these study groups.

Such public government studies were (and are) ill-equipped and uninformed. They were not read into the programs relating to physical evidence. All of them continue to reach ambiguous conclusions that 1) the phenomena can largely be accounted for by misperception of such things as weather events, balloons, drones and military aircraft, birds in flight, and celestial bodies such as planets or stars, or by hoaxes or psychopathology; 2) a small percentage of these sightings represent objects for which no immediate identification can be determined; 3) the phenomena do not represent a threat to national security; and 4) there is no existing evidence that the phenomena is extraterrestrial in nature. Like a mantra, their script reads the same, decade after decade.

These studies have been variously conducted by (or for) the DoD, DIA, Air Force, Navy, and NASA:

Project Sign (1948)

Project Grudge (1949-1951)

Project Twinkle (studied ‘Green Fireball Phenomena’) 1949-1952

Project Blue Book (1952-1969)

Robertson Panel (1953)

Condon Committee (1966-1968)

The 2000s have seen a re-emergence of many publicly acknowledged official UFO studies:

Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program (formerly Advanced Aerospace Weapons Systems Applications

    Program) (2007-2012)

NASA Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena Task Force (2022- Present)

Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force (UAPTF, studied phenomena occurring from 2004-2021)

Airborne Object Identification Management and Synchronization Group (2021-present)

All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office (2022-present)

On the very face of it, it seems ridiculous that with all the supposed efforts by government over so many years, no real insight into the phenomena has ever been forthcoming. How is it possible that these US agencies, after so very much time has passed, have yet to provide any understanding of what people have been seeing and reporting? Something else is clearly going on and the public has now become both weary and wary of government UFO studies.

There are inherent limitations to photographs and video, witness testimony, and radar returns when it comes to UFOs. This is why the publicly acknowledged government UFO study investigations do not yield answers. Only physical artifacts in the form of a crashed vehicle, or debris such as shot-off pieces, flotsam or landing residue will provide tangible and irrefutable proof of extraterrestrial origin.

And debris evidence was most certainly retrieved in 1947 at the UFO crash near Roswell, New Mexico. The trail shows that it was thereafter contracted to private industry and our National Laboratories (operated by defense contractors) for analysis and for the examination of potential use and application of these recovered technologies.

THE TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER

Battelle Memorial
Battelle Memorial Institute

It began with Battelle. In close proximity to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio is a defense contractor called Battelle Memorial Institute.  Founded in 1929, Battelle is engaged in research, development and commercialization of technological innovation for the US government. They specialize in materials science and engineering, life sciences, energy science and national security. Battelle contractually operates many of our country's National Laboratories. This includes some of the U.S.'s most sensitive installations such as Oak Ridge, Lawrence Livermore, and Brookhaven laboratories. Their metallurgical and systems capabilities and technical talent continue to be recognized as world-class.

Battelle has a history of both reverse-engineering and of UFO study. In 1951, the US government asked Battelle to undertake a statistical study of UFO reports collected so far. In that same year, Battelle helped Air Force Intelligence to evaluate Soviet MiG-15 components brought to the United States.

But more telling is that Battelle, in the year following the UFO crash near Roswell, NM in 1947, began secret experiments sponsored by Wright-Patterson AFB (the same base to which the Roswell crash debris was flown) on morphing metal and shape-recovery alloys, much like those reported by witnesses to the Roswell crash debris. One of the Battelle scientists of the time period, Elroy John Center, later confessed that he was involved in the analysis of UFO debris when employed by the Institute. THE UFO PENTAGON PAPERS –
THE REVEALING FOIA REPLY TO A REQUEST FOR
UFO DEBRIS TESTS BY BIGELOW AEROSPACE

A stunning admission by the US government was made in 2021 that it possesses UFO debris that was being analyzed by a private contractor. This was in response to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request filed in 2017 by this author. In a reply letter, the US Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) ended decades of speculation by verifying that UFO material was indeed being studied. This story went viral with worldwide coverage at the time.

As reported by The New York Times, some of this material was placed with a defense contractor called Bigelow Aerospace in Nevada for analysis and storage in what the paper called "specialized facilities". Incredibly, part of the information released through this FOIA to this author discusses material with shape recovery properties, much like the "memory metal" debris found fallen at the Roswell UFO crash in 1947. And based on the 151 pages of technical documentation received, it appears that the retrieved debris exhibits other extraordinary capabilities. In addition to "remembering" their original form when bent or crushed, some of these futuristic materials have the potential to make things invisible, "compress" electromagnetic energy, and even slow down the speed of light. Although much of the report's details are redacted, what can be gleaned is that these technologies represent a literal quantum leap beyond the properties of all existing material known to man. WHY ARE PRIVATE SECTOR COMPANIES INVOLVED IN UFO STUDY?

  • The US government does not “make” anything. They do not manufacture any system or device. If attempts are made at replication and construction of systems and materials used in recovered UFOs, it must be produced by private sector companies.

  • They are not subject to FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) requests.

  • They are not compelled to respond to inquiries from the press or from anyone else.

  • They are insulated from questions and investigations of anything related to their research and development activities.

  • They have staff who maintain Top Secret / SCI clearances and who are often former very senior level military or intelligence officers with specialized or needed skills.

  • These staff often do not even realize the impetus of their work as having extraterrestrial origin. Decades have passed since the Roswell UFO crash and the work on its debris has been highly compartmentalized and "blended into" existing research in aerospace and other disciplines. Any material acquired since then is similarly treated.

  • Extreme secrecy and security are built into the operational fabric of defense contractors working on highly sensitive projects.

  • The private sector (specifically Battelle Memorial Institute) contract operates our National Laboratories, conducting secret scientific research of the most advanced order.

WHAT THE SENATOR SAID

Harry Reid.png
The Late Senator Harry Reid

Harry Reid, who passed in 2021, was the US Senator from Nevada from 1987-2017. He was the Senate Majority Leader from 2007-2015. Reid, given that he was from Nevada, had a particular interest in the activities at Area 51 in his home state and had a long-time interest in the subject of UFOs.

In a little-referenced article by Gideon Lewis-Kraus for The New Yorker magazine April 30 2021,  Reid stated: “I was told for decades that Lockheed had some of these retrieved materials”, he said. “And I tried to get, as I recall, a classified approval by the Pentagon to have me go look at the stuff. They would not approve that. I don’t know what all the numbers were, what kind of classification it was, but they would not give that to me and have not provided a reason.” The Pentagon declined comment to The New Yorker on Reid’s extraordinary statement.

WHAT A WASHINGTON INSIDER SAID

Dick D'Amato (C. Richard D'Amato) is – by any standard – a classic "DC insider". He apparently also knows far more about what happened at Roswell and recovered craft than most in DC. After attending Cornell and the Fletcher School of Diplomacy, D'Amato earned his JD from Georgetown. He was a Professor at the US Naval Academy. Entering the world of politics, he rose quickly through various appointments. He served on many high-level US congressional advisory bodies (including on defense appropriations, national security and on international relations matters) and attained Top Secret clearances. He was named the Chief Counsel and Investigator to the US Senate Appropriations Committee. He later became National Security Specialist for Senate Majority Leader Robert Byrd and a liaison member of the National Security Council. Today a private consultant, D'Amato remains active in politics in Maryland.

Dick D’Amato

In the early 1990s, former Senate Majority Leader Robert Byrd, who was chair of the Senate Committee on Appropriations, tasked D'Amato with investigating if UFOs had crashed and were being studied using government monies. After investigating and visiting Area 51, D’Amato was unable to verify claims relating to crashed saucers and was met with resistance and non-cooperation by companies believed to be involved. According to Las Vegas TV reporter George Knapp, who interviewed D’Amato some years ago, D’Amato said that he thought it “entirely feasible that this UFO cover-up exists within a private company, a company such as Lockheed Martin, EG&G or Northrop Grumman.”

WHAT THE HOUSE INTELLIGENCE COMMITTEE SAID

Adam Schiff.png
Rep. Adam Schiff, former Intelligence Committee Chairperson

Last year this author found buried within an official intelligence document mention of recovered UFOs and the private sector. The statements were located in the massive 2023 US House Intelligence Authorization Act document that was authored by select members of Congress cleared and chosen to sit on The House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (also called The House Intelligence Committee) led by the Committee's former Chairman, Rep. Adam Schiff. The document addresses tracking “unidentified aerospace / undersea phenomena” and refers explicitly to “efforts to recover or transfer related technologies to United States industry or National Laboratories.”

WHAT A MOON WALKER SAID

In an interview in the 1990s, the late Dr. Edgar Mitchell, MIT graduate, Roswell, NM native, Apollo astronaut and sixth man to walk on the Moon, stated of technology from UFO wreckage: “It is in the hands of individuals--formerly government, formerly perhaps intelligence, now under private sector control with some sort of oversight by military or by government.”

WHAT A PRESIDENT SAID

Edgar Mitchell, PhD
President Dwight Eisenhower

On Jan. 17, 1961, President Dwight Eisenhower gave the nation a dire warning about what he described as a threat to democratic government. He called it the military-industrial complex, a formidable union of defense contractors and the armed forces. He said:

"In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists, and will persist."
